01

roaming from Chile and Argentina

Some mobile plans from neighboring countries include Brazil or allow roaming packages to be activated. It may be the simplest solution, but confirm coverage, data allowance, duration and price before traveling: your carrier operating in Brazil does not mean your plan includes roaming.

02

eSIM

You can buy it before your trip and activate it when you land. Check that your phone supports eSIM, is unlocked, and keep your usual SIM for receiving banking codes.

03

Brazilian SIM card

Procedures and accepted documents may vary by carrier and sales channel. Before buying, check directly whether registration requires a CPF or accepts a passport. Anatel lists carrier support channels for questions about prepaid SIM activation. Do not use someone else's CPF or send document photos to informal sellers.

04

SIM card ready with Ernestinho

If you want to arrive with everything arranged, contact us before your trip. We can organize an already activated SIM card with minutes and a data package, subject to coverage, availability and phone compatibility.

05

Public Wi-Fi

Use it for general browsing, but not to enter banking passwords or confirm sensitive transactions. Turn off automatic connections and use mobile data for payments.

06

offline plan

Download the Rio map, translator, tickets, insurance policy and accommodation address. Also save the phone number +55 21 96994-6938.

07

Check your phone before traveling

Check that your phone is unlocked and supports the eSIM you plan to use. Save its IMEI and enable tracking and backups. A compatible phone that is locked to your home carrier cannot activate another eSIM.

08

Getting connected at the airport

If you need Wi-Fi, confirm the official network name before connecting. Use it to let someone know you have arrived and arrange transport; avoid sensitive banking activity. Save your accommodation address, booking, route and Ernestinho's contact before traveling.

09

Coverage, data and a backup plan

Signal varies by carrier, buildings, tunnels, mountains and roads. Download maps, translation tools and booking details. Compare the plan's duration and data allowance with your needs, and keep emergency roaming or an offline backup; avoid publishing prices that may become outdated.

AIRALO eSIM

Airalo eSIM for your trip

Compare data plans for Brazil and other destinations. Before purchasing, make sure your phone supports eSIM and is unlocked.

I would first choose between roaming, a physical SIM and an eSIM based on your phone and trip. If you choose Airalo, use the existing comparison tool to review the plan; confirm data allowance, validity and activation before paying. The purchase is made with the provider; enquiring about a SIM on WhatsApp is a separate option.

Ernestinho Carioca is an authorized Airalo promoter.
