Small bar, a menu with character
On Rua Arnaldo Quintela, Quartinho belongs to the bar corridor that made Botafogo a good neighbourhood for walking between venues. It is intimate, combining a counter, tables and kitchen. Following its 2026 renovation it returned with an updated setting, artworks and a new food and cocktail menu.
What to order and how to get there
Recent reviews mention pork-leg and chicken-heart sandwiches, Korean-inspired fried chicken and sharing plates. The menu changes; I would choose it for the combination of food and cocktails rather than pursue a fixed dish. I would arrive early for conversation and a table.
When it fills up
The bar’s size becomes noticeable at busy times: less room to move and more noise. Later it works as a stop on a Botafogo night out, but does not offer a large dance floor. The venue lists opening Tuesday to Saturday; ask about tables beforehand for groups.
My Ernestinho tip
I would arrive before peak time and would not bring a large group without asking. Its small size is part of the charm and also the main limitation when it fills up.
