Why I include it
Riotur describes a venue with varied programming: samba, reggae, pop, parties and circus activities. It is on Av. Mem de Sá and changes its offering each night, which to me is part of its appeal.
How to experience it
I would not go blindly expecting samba every day. First I check @levianobar for the programme. Depending on the date, you may find a band, music circle, party or a more dance-focused event.
My Ernestinho tip
In Lapa the choice of day matters greatly. If you like the programme, arrive before the late-night peak. For a return to Copacabana after 2 or 3 am, I prioritise an app/taxi and wait indoors or in a busy spot.
If you are travelling with people who want different kinds of nights out, I would use the programme to choose together: the genre and party format say more than a general venue description. Also check whether your ticket allows re-entry; I would not assume that when planning dinner or another Lapa stop. Once you have a plan, agree where to meet at the end and travel back together.
