Coisas de Bamba

Why I include it

Coisas de Bamba began in 2025 with a clear concept: putting samba at the heart of the waterfront experience. It honours major names, including Martinho da Vila and Moacyr Luz, and combines the beach, food and live music.

What the night is like

For me the best time is late afternoon. Orla Rio’s published programme shows frequent music circles and performances, and Veja Rio describes daily samba at dusk, usually lasting until around 10 pm. The kiosk remains open afterwards, but music has its own schedule.

Food and drinks

The food complements the music: bar snacks, sharing dishes, beer, draught beer and cocktails. I would not treat it only as a place to see a show; it also works for sitting by the sea, eating and letting the evening unfold.
