Why I include it
The venue describes itself as Rio’s oldest rock bar, active since 1997. It occupies a large house with a spacious covered outdoor area, three bars and three DJ spaces. Thursdays feature Mundo Lingo; Fridays often have themed parties and karaoke, and the programme changes weekly.
How to experience it
Here I would check the programme before deciding: one night may focus on DJs, another on bands, karaoke or a themed party. The official website maintains programming, bookings and WhatsApp.
My Ernestinho tip
Do not expect a quiet bar to sit in all evening. Arrive early to avoid the busiest period. It is in Botafogo, and the ride back to Copacabana by app/taxi is short compared with Lapa or the Port Zone.
The programme sets the tone here, so I would check which band, DJ or party is on and whether it is best to buy a ticket in advance. I would not choose clothes based only on the “rock” label: check the event details and wear something comfortable for standing or moving between areas. It is in Botafogo, so you can pair it with dinner nearby, but plan your return in advance if you will be out late.
