Inside Copacabana Palace, it is one of Rio’s most elegant theatres. Its intimate setting hosts plays, concerts, musicals and special events.
The combination of theatre, elegance and Copacabana Palace’s history.
The experience
The best way to discover it is to attend a performance. Audiences find a sophisticated auditorium, good sightlines and an experience integrated with the hotel’s historic atmosphere.
History
The theatre opened in 1949 and was carefully restored after years of closure. In April 2026 it was renamed Teatro Fernanda Montenegro in honour of one of Brazil’s greatest actresses.

My tip
It is an excellent opportunity to experience part of Copacabana Palace without staying at the hotel. Arrive early and confirm which entrance serves the theatre.
