Use four states: verified access for the stated section; partial or assistance needed; major barrier; and unverified. Road proximity does not earn a green label. Separate vehicle access, pavements, entrance, sand and toilets. A companion does not automatically make stairs usable; reaching a place does not guarantee independent swimming or toilet access.

Azeda/Azedinha’s usual path and steps are major wheelchair barriers. At Caravelas, verify the road, passage and final stairs; do not mark it accessible. Ferradura needs a sector-specific check of drop-off, sand and toilets. In the centre, Orla and Porto da Barra, assess paving, crossings, gradients and entrances; adapted toilets remain unverified until the actual venue confirms them.

Ask about the assigned vehicle, lift or ramp, dimensions and wheelchair securement. Even a lift-equipped bus may stop where the final approach has barriers. For taxis or transfers, explain seat transfer, folding chair, dimensions and companions; request written confirmation. For boats, check boarding, steps, movement and toilets before booking.

Request photos or video from the street entrance through lifts, doorways, circulation, shower, grab rails and bathroom. Confirm bed height, turning space and accessible parking if needed. An adapted room does not solve an outside hill or restaurant steps. Send your actual requirements and request item-by-item answers before a non-refundable booking.

Choose a base near the services you will use and short outings with breaks and return transport. Distance alone is insufficient: hills, heat and surfaces change the effort. A panoramic vehicle may reduce walking, but check boarding steps, seating and stops; it is not advertised here as adapted transport.
